At-Home Ear Pain and Ear Infection Examination

Detailed at-home assessment for sudden-onset ear pain and infection complaints.

Ear pain can make a hospital visit difficult when it strikes suddenly. Middle ear infections, outer ear canal inflammation, and eardrum-related complaints are among the conditions that can be assessed at home.

With a portable endoscopic imaging system, the eardrum and outer ear canal can be examined in detail without needing a hospital setting.

Who this is suitable for

  • Sudden-onset ear pain, one-sided or both
  • A feeling of fullness, ringing, or reduced hearing in the ear
  • Mild-to-moderate complaints without ear discharge
  • Ear pain in children that causes crying at night

When this isn't suitable

  • High fever (over 39°C) with altered consciousness
  • Swelling, redness and marked tenderness behind the ear
  • Facial paralysis or sudden hearing loss accompanying the pain
  • Ear pain following a head injury
