At-Home Ear, Nose and Throat Foreign Body Assessment

At-home assessment for ear/nose foreign body complaints, especially common in children.

A foreign object getting into the ear or nose is a common occurrence, especially in children. During the at-home assessment, the location of the object and whether it can be removed are examined.

A portable endoscopic imaging system allows the foreign object to be clearly visualized.

Who this is suitable for

  • Small, non-sharp objects lodged in the ear canal
  • Objects lodged in the nasal cavity that don't cause breathing difficulty
  • Mild complaints that aren't causing panic

When this isn't suitable

  • A swallowed button battery, or one lodged in the nose or ear
  • Suspected object in the airway (choking, coughing fits)
  • Suspected foreign object that can't be seen or is deeply lodged
  • Cases accompanied by bleeding or noticeable tissue damage

How the process works

  1. Share your complaint

Send your complaint and the address for the visit by phone or WhatsApp.

  2. Your visit is scheduled

Once availability is confirmed, your home visit is scheduled directly — no pre-assessment or waiting process.

  3. Examination at home

When needed, an assessment is carried out in your environment using a portable endoscopic imaging system.

Frequently asked questions

Can a foreign object be removed at home?
When appropriate, an assessment is made based on the object's location and nature; safe removal isn't always possible, and a hospital referral is made if needed.
My child has something stuck in their ear — what should I do?
If there's no breathing difficulty, stay calm and request an assessment; it's recommended you don't try to remove the object yourself.
